Thanks
I learned lots. There are many sites that I will be going back to take a closer look at and also some that I will incorporate into my world. Thanks!
My MP3
As I mentioned before, I already have an Ipod. I also have an MP3 player. I actually have had it for a couple of years now, ever since the library got Downloadable Audiobooks. I have never used it because I realized I don't have the patience to listen to books. I read faster!
So, I have decided that I will have theme players. One for more energy music, one for older tunes, and one for others. I have varied taste, so this will be great!

Music makes the people come together
Did I just violate copyright?
I am all about free music, but nothing is really free. Even though we offer our services at the library for free, it is still paid by the residents of Orange County. I have a personal thing: I need to like at least 3 songs before I consider buying a CD. This is why my collection mainly consists of Greatest Hits, compilations, and movie soundtracks. Also, I just started using my Ipod recently, so my views on available music might change. But I have so many CDs now that I love, it would take a while for me to get new ones to listen to. That is what I use the radio for and in a few months, NOW will come out with the hits.
For my searching, I looked up Styx. It is what I am listening to at the moment. I get various "cravings" for music. I am kinda all over the board. LivePlasma was interesting about it. The bands around Styx, I have most of the CDs (not Rush, sorry Tom and Matthew). I also looked up Styx on Musicstands and was impressed to see that my favorite song of theirs was also #1 on Musicstrands: Renegade. Awesome!

It was easier than I thought it would be, and something that I would use more often. I have got to say, I have heard about many of these sites, but never went before this class.
Online learning...I took a few online classes in graduate school when I was getting my MLS. I did not like them as much as in person classes for two reason: participation scores and internet speed. I am not that great of a participator when it is online. Also at that time I had dial up.
For this course, thank God for the makeup weeks. I like to go at my own pace, i.e. when I have time to look at things.

I like Games
Sad thing is...I don't have many hobbies. I like to read, relax and visit with people. Guess I need to get a hobby. I am rarely bored; I used to drive my college roommate crazy.
I went to the two trivia sites. Really like Blufr. I could get addicted to that site. Had to stop myself. I also registered on the You Play site. I am not that great with crossword puzzles, unless it is in People magazine. I kill on those. On the You Play site, I played the trivia game. It asked some tough questions! But it said "well done".

Technology for Keeping Track
I have been hearing about Shelfari for months (thanks Edward). So, I finally joined. Have to say it made me a bit mad. I said that I did not want my yahoo address book used to contact people, but it did. And it sent out a second notice for my "friends" to join. But, the concept and site itself I liked. I added a couple of books. It would take me a very long time to put all of my books on my shelf. I also went to Guru Library and added a couple of DVDs to the list. This one I will use more, because I have less DVDs but a good size collection. I would like to keep a record of what I have.

Way behind...but catching up
Yes, my vacation has put me behind in posting. Was not surprise to see OCLS on MySpace or YouTube (I did work in IS for a time). It is pretty neat that we are out there for the world to see. The Web 2.0 video was cool. Lots to think about...but I love words, so it was my cup of tea. I do have a MySpace account, and actually it brought me together with my cousin who I have not seen in over 10 years. He came and visited me at the library last week (he lives in Orlando).
FYI: That Video Ninja was the funniest thing! Thanks for sharing!

Key West
Yes, that is what I searched for on Grokker. I will be there in four days, and I cannot wait! I actually spent a good deal of my childhood in Key West, so it was interesting to see what the results were. The mapping of results was cool...a bit too much for me (I am all about learning visually, but...). I did find out something that I had not known about- the East Coast Greenway. They are constructing an "urban path" from Maine to Key West. I always wanted to travel all the way up to Maine from Key West on US1; now I will have to keep this in mind...for something to do in my retirement! I can remember traveling on the Old 7 mile Bridge, so I am curious how this path is "constructed" in the Keys. I will keep a look out for this path when I am driving down.
RSS...of course I signed up for the Library Leader Blog. Also signed up for some library related blogs (Shifted Librarian, ect). Saw an interesting link on one of them...a library joining up with NetFlix. My favorite so far is the Daily Show videos feed. Surprisingly, two of the blogs I signed up for no longer had correct links. But, I found the right ones and sign up!
Later!

My First Posting
Well, this is post #1. I am looking forward to blogging; I have not done much in the past. Never know quite what to say.
On a side note: I am excited that it is Wednesday; that means that Lost is on tonight. I have a little quirk with watching the show...I pause it (thank you, TiVo!) for about 20 minutes then watch it straight through skipping the commercials. I can't stand the suspense. People who know me know that I am like this with many things (books, movies, ect...). I am all about the spoilers; it does not ruin things for me. So if I ask, tell me or you will be keeping me in suspense!
